He is a short, blond fellow who wears stylish clothing (sometimes leather armor). ADVENTURE NOTES--Day #1--04/06/07 Moose at the Bat: Moose entered the interview room with his usual directness to the warm greetings of the Alpha-Z recruiter Michael Zharra. He was mildly surprised to find a large minotaur in the room as well. When asked about his skills, Moose said "I have a big sword, nice armor, and I know how to use them." He then went on to explain that he was seeking employment to earn fame and fortune, so he could find a rich woman to marry and he could retire in style. Michael suggested the Moose demonstrate his skill with the sword in a sparring match against the minotaur, Quaz. The fight did not go well at first. Moose was apparently not used to fighting such a large opponent, but he did find his center and finish the match. Grieves Drags It Out: Grieves strolled into the interview room with Doc, his trained fighting dog, at his side. He ignore the minotaur as he discussed his background and skills with Mr. Zharra. Grieves spent time in the military as a scout and medic, tracking, hunting, and providing backup to the front line troops. He indicated that he sought out Alpha-Z based on their reputation for reliability and high quality work. When asked to demonstrate his skills, they walked to the practice yard, where Doc performed a "recover" trick to pull an injured man to safety where Grieves healed him. He also demonstrated summoning a bear, which he dismissed shortly thereafter. Diggs Scuttles Through: Diggs popped into the interview room with his typical unrestrained energy. He jumped up onto Michael's desk so they could talk easier and happily rambled on about just about anything set before him. When asked about why Alpha-Z, he said because he saw the sign and wanted to try being an adventurer. To demonstrate his skills, Diggs summoned a smallish beetle... and then a bigger one. He explained his summoning skills and why he favors insects. He also explained that he's a trained archaeologist, showing off odd tools and such to Mr. Zharra. Victor Sneaks In: Victor made his way into the interview room with a casual style as if he was meant to be there. He then commenced to change the subject and dodge around questions aimed at his background and merely claimed that he was good at gathering information... a spy. With the appropriate skills to back that up. He said he wanted to join Alpha-Z because they are a well respected guild where he hopes to learn more. A dark corner of the practice yard was used for his demonstration. An area where rogues practice in the shadows and on walls of various types. Victor performed well moving through the shadows, then was challenged to a match by Rachel, an elven rogue who was overseeing that part of the yard. Victor attempted to distract her using a Mage Hand spell to float a dagger up from her left, but she smiled and tossed a dagger right by Victor, spoiling his concentration instead... and ending his spell. They then set to fighting. Victor knew he was not likely to win going straight in, so he feinted left and then struck right, scoring a touch easily on his opponent. William Plays It Right: William strolled into the interview room as if making an entrance on stage. Seeing the minotaur, he made as if to hang his hat on its horns then thought better of it. He explained to Mr. Zharra that he was an entertainer by trade, with an interest in building up his collection of tales. Why join Alpha-Z? Because he likes the name. He played a short piece on his clarinet and demonstrated his spellcasting skills with a Dancing Lights spell. He also claimed some amount of healing ability, but did not have a chance to show it off. He explained that he could defend himself as needed, but did not have a lot of interest in being on the front line. Bootstrapping: The five of them did get hired and put through training at the Alpha-Z boot camp... where you lose your boots on day one and have to earn them back. Sergeant Korg and the other trainers taught them how to work better with teammates, polishing up the rough edges on the raw talent the five contained.
